Step-by-Step Guide for JAMB Registration (2025 Edition)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) conducts the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates seeking admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Follow this guide to successfully register for JAMB.

1. Create a JAMB Profile
Before registering for JAMB, you need to create a profile.
Steps to create a JAMB profile:

  • Send an SMS:

Type NIN [your NIN number] (e.g., NIN 12345678901).

Send the SMS to 55019 or 66019 using a registered phone number.

You will receive a Profile Code via SMS.

  • Note:

Each phone number can only be used for one candidate.

Ensure your NIN is linked to your phone number.

2. Buy JAMB e-PIN

After receiving your Profile Code, purchase the JAMB e-PIN.

Where to buy JAMB e-PIN:

Banks (e.g., First Bank, Access Bank, Polaris Bank)

Online payment platforms (e.g., Remita, Interswitch)

USSD Code: Dial 5656*55019# and follow the instructions.

Post Offices and JAMB Offices

Cost of JAMB Form:

JAMB e-PIN: ₦3,500

CBT Service Charge: ₦700

Reading Text (Novel): ₦500

Total: ₦4,700

3. Visit an Accredited CBT Center

After obtaining the e-PIN, proceed to an accredited JAMB CBT center for registration.

What to bring to the CBT center:

Profile Code and e-PIN

NIN Slip

Personal details (e.g., email, address, state of origin)

Choice of institutions and courses

O’Level results (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) or indicate “Awaiting Result”

At the CBT center, you will:

Provide your biometric details (fingerprints and photo).

Fill out your registration form.

Choose your four preferred institutions/courses.

Select your exam town.

Collect your registration printout and JAMB novel.

4. Print JAMB Exam Slip

JAMB will announce when the exam slip reprinting starts.

Steps to print your JAMB exam slip:

  • Click on “Print Examination Slip”
  • Enter your JAMB Registration Number or Phone Number
  • Click Print to see your exam date, time, and venue.

 

5. Prepare for the Exam

Study using JAMB past questions and the recommended JAMB novel.

Use the JAMB syllabus and online CBT practice tests.

Arrive early at your exam center on the scheduled date.

6. JAMB Admission Process

After JAMB releases results, check the JAMB CAPS portal for admission updates.

Accept or reject your admission offer when available.

Print your JAMB Admission Letter after acceptance.
